Baptist East again named Best Place to Work

Baptist Hospital East once again has been named one of the Top 20 Best Places to Work in Kentucky among large companies – this year ranking third. The ranking was announced at a luncheon held in Lexington, Thursday, March 30 and was presented by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and the Kentucky Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).
Baptist East also finished as the best hospital to work in Kentucky. Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington also made the list, finishing ninth.
The competition recognizes companies that focus, measure and move their workplace environments toward excellence. Winners were selected in two categories: medium-sized companies with 25-199 employees and large-sized companies of 200 or more employees.
Baptist East was one of only 10 organizations to repeat as top 20 Best Places to Work honorees, and increased its ranking from 16 in 2005 to third in 2006.
This honor comes on the heels of another major recognition: the second consecutive year that Baptist East was named a Top 100 Hospital® by Solucient, which recognizes performance in five critical areas: clinical outcomes, patient safety, operational efficiency, financial stability and growth.
“Baptist Hospital East is truly blessed to have the phenomenal team we have to make these awards possible. The entire hospital staff, management team, physicians, volunteers and board members are to be congratulated for having the focus to make Baptist East the outstanding organization it is,” said President Sue Tamme.
