Baptist East named Breast Imaging Center of Excellence

Baptist Hospital East’s Breast Care Center has been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

Baptist East is the only hospital in Louisville to receive the designation and one of only four in Kentucky.

The three-year term of accreditation is for mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy. The award is the result of a recent voluntary survey by ACR. The evaluations were conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who assessed the qualifications of the Baptist East Breast Care Center personnel and the adequacy of the facility equipment.

The designation as an ACR Breast Imaging Center of Excellence is a testament to the quality of imaging performed by the Baptist East breast center.

The Breast Care Center is a full service breast center that performs to the highest standards and this designation should be viewed as a sign of approval to inform the public what Baptist East strives for in regards to breast care. The mammography and sonography team leaders have worked diligently throughout this process.

Baptist East is excited to offer patients not only high quality mammography and ultrasound breast-related services, but also high resolution breast MRI and a gamut of image-guided breast procedures.
