Baptist East named best place to work for sixth year

For the sixth consecutive year, Baptist Hospital East has been named one of the Best Places to Work in Kentucky.

The 519-bed acute care hospital has received the award every year since its inception. The award is given by the Kentucky Society for Human Resources Management State Council, in conjunction with the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.

Baptist East is one of 32 large (more than 250 employees) companies in the state designated as among the “Best Places to Work in Kentucky” along with the same number of small/medium companies.

The selection process includes an assessment of each firm’s employee policies and procedures plus the results of an internal employee survey.

At an April 21 event, the ranking of winners will be announced.

Baptist East’s award-winning practices include an employee wellness campaign (including discounted membership to the Baptist East/Milestone Wellness Center), on-site daycare center, benefits for part-time employees and a Leadership College to train current and future managers and directors. Employees already on board can move up through a robust career program including career ladders for nursing staff, the Knowledge Program for nursing and healthcare students and school-at-work to train for new positions. College tuition assistance is also offered.
