Baptist to open a pair of ‘The Clinic at Walmart’ locations in South End

Two new Baptist Express Care locations will open in the coming weeks inside Walmart stores in Southern Jefferson County.

At 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 20 is the ribbon-cutting for the Clinic at Walmart in the Hillview store, 11901 Standiford Plaza.

At 10 a.m. Friday, July 29 the ribbon will be cut to officially open the clinic at 175 Outer Loop.

Both locations will be operated by Baptist Health Louisville – the fourth and fifth clinics to open in Jefferson County. Other locations are in Middletown, Shively/Riverport and Bashford Manor. Baptist Health La Grange operates a clinic at the La Grange Walmart store.

The clinics are open seven days a week, and feature evening hours. No appointment is needed.

For busy customers who need care, especially after working hours or on weekends, the clinic will treat common health ailments and offer routine services. These include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Acne
  • Bladder infections
  • Blood sugar testing
  • Camp physicals
  • Cholesterol screening
  • Common vaccinations
  • Ear aches

  • Flu
  • Insect bites and stings
  • Minor wounds
  • Sinus infections
  • Upper respiratory infections
  • Wart removal

Clinics are staffed by experienced nurse practitioners.

Cash, check, credit/debit cards and most forms of insurance are accepted. Prices for services are posted at each location.

“This clinic is another example of providing patients with innovative solutions to their basic healthcare needs,” said Baptist Louisville President David Gray. “Anyone who’s had a child develop an ear ache after hours or on the weekend will appreciate the convenience of having a medical professional available nearby.”

“Walmart is dedicated to serving our customers and our communities, and this type of clinic helps expand their access to quality health care,” said Bruce Shepard, Walmart’s director of healthcare innovations. “Baptist is a well-known and respected healthcare provider in this area, so our customers will receive quality care from people they know and trust.”

With the opening of these clinics, there will be 131 in-store clinics in Walmart stores across 28 states. For further information about “The Clinic at Walmart,” visit www.walmart.com/clinics.
