Consumer Choice Award given to Baptist Hospital East
For the sixth time, consumers in the Louisville market have voted Baptist Hospital East as the No. 1 healthcare facility in the Metro area.
The poll was conducted by the National Research Corporation (NRC) of Lincoln, Neb. and announced in the Sept. 29 issue of Modern Healthcare magazine. Baptist East previously won the Consumer Choice Award in 1996, 1997, 1998, 2006 and 2007.
Winners of the 2008/09 Consumer Choice Awards are determined by consumer perceptions on multiple quality and image ratings collected in the company’s NRC Healthcare Market Guide Ticker® study. More than 400,000 consumers nationwide were surveyed for the study. Consumers were asked about overall quality of the institution, the expertise of its physicians and nurses and the image and reputation of the facility.
The award identifies hospitals in each of 190 metropolitan statistical areas which consumers have chosen as having the highest quality and best image.
This is the 13th year NRC has awarded hospitals whose consumers have recognized them for providing quality healthcare services.
It is the third major honor the hospital has received this year. Baptist East was named one of the nation's 100 Top Hospitals® for the fourth consecutive year by Thomson, a company that offers resources to hospitals and pharmaceutical companies through a national healthcare database. And, Baptist East repeated as a Best Places to Work in Kentucky winner in the large employer division.
